Application

 

The annual International Summer School on Dispute Resolution is a program jointly organized by Tulane Law School and the Institut für Anwaltsrecht at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Applicants enrolled in Law Schools in the United States as well as residents of the United States, Canada and Panama have to file their application to Tulane Law School, while applicants from Germany have to apply to the Institut für Anwaltsrecht. Applicants from all other countries may choose where to apply.

Due to the concept of simulated exercises and interactive interchanges, the capacity for the course "Intercultural Negotiation/Mediation" is limited to 120 participants (max 30 students per class). 60 participants will be admitted via Tulane, and 60 via Humboldt.

The exercises within the Summer School require that the participants speak fluent English. Therefore an application is necessary.

 

Participants who would like to attend the 20th International Summer School on Dispute Resolution should file an application to the Institut für Anwaltsrecht an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. .

Tuition

 

To cover the costs for the Summer School there is a tuition fee. For those applicants, who have to file their application to Tulane Law School (Those students enrolled in Law Schools in the United States as well as residents of the United States, Canada and Panama), the tuition fee scheme for Tulanes Summer abroad programms apply. Those students will receive academic credits according to the ABA-Rules and have to pay their tuition fee to Tulane. Those students who are eligible to apply to the Institut at Humboldt-University, will have to pay the following tuition fees:

490 Euro

for Referendare and postgraduates

590 Euro

for lawyers and other professionals

900 Euro.

 

 

 

Admission

Applicants will be notified if they are accepted within two working days.

In the past some admitted participants have faced a rather long application procedure for their visa. If you need a visa to come to Germany, please make sure to approach your German Embassy or consulate as early as possible in order to make sure that you will receive your visa in time, being able to attend the program.

Your admission is finalized if we have received your tuition. If an admitted applicant is not able to attend the program, paid tuition will be refunded. When refunding the paid tuition, EUR 200 plus any expense made by the institute in order to facilitate the participation, e.g. expenses for the mailing of documents, insurance premium, bank charges, etc., will be charged to cover the administrative costs connected to the application procedure.
